DJ Kurupt

What a time to be alive, welcome to the 1990s, where DJ Kurupt entered the industry by working house parties and clubs. Shortly thereafter, he progressed to performing at sold-out concerts across the globe. His success and impeccable skills continued to open doors to greater opportunities throughout the music industry. Throughout his career, he earned the name DJ Kurupt by producing mixtapes that quickly gained popularity on the music scene and caught the attention of hip-hop’s greatest legends. That’s when “The Mixtape Hero” arrived. He has collaborated with major artists such as Nicki Minaj, 50 Cent, Ne-Yo, Pharrell, Alicia Keys, and reggae’s A-list talent Beenie Man, just to name a few. Closing out the 1990s with several appearances on BET’s RapCity: Tha Basement, DJ Kurupt continued building momentum in the years that followed. In 2003 and 2004, Def Jam Recordings handpicked him to produce a CD sampler and help launch projects for Joe Budden and R&B star Ne-Yo. He later expanded his television presence as a guest DJ and judge on BET’s hit show 106 & Park, where he appeared on Freestyle Fridays. With years of commercial radio experience under his belt, DJ Kurupt launched his own Streetcorner Radio Mix Show in 2004. The program led to live performances on Shade 45 and broadcasts across numerous online radio stations, including K100 Radio, Inspir3 Radio, and Southern Muscle Radio, to name a few.
